I will use this chapter to capture the observations which are not new among those whose livelihood is the study and support of human development, but for me, represented a steep, protracted learning-curve. I will drop here the covers of books I have cherished along my spiritual journey of the last nineteen years, as well as insightful articles that have helped me to gain a better understanding of human relationships.

“After 12 years of marriage, suburban mom Joanne Fleisher fell in love with a woman and started a new life. Now a clinical social worker, Joanne has counseled hundreds of married women who are attracted to other women.
In her book, Living Two Lives: Married to a Man and in Love with a Woman, Joanne offers advice for women who are struggling with the decision to come out. “They don’t have any place to turn. They can’t really turn to their heterosexual friends because most people wouldn’t understand,” Joanne says. “And then they can’t really turn to the gay community because they don’t really feel a part of the gay community. They’re not there yet.””
